Non-Spoiler Review Of Mirzapur Season 2
If you enjoy watching action, retribution, or other thrilling shows, I’m confident you’ve seen Mirzapur’s first season.
I had no idea what a web series was or what it showed. I used to hear my classmates talking about Mirzapur; at first, I thought it was a movie, but after doing some research, I discovered that it is a web series available on the Amazon Prime platform.
If the first part of a series is successful in winning the hearts of the audience, then the expectations for its sequel go up a lot, and living up to them becomes very stressful for the makers.
Right now I am going to give a non spoiler review of Mirzapur season 2 to all of you.
Non-Spoiler Review Of Mirzapur Season 2
After losing Bablo or Sweety, Guddu or Golu have emerged to exact revenge on the Tripathi family, and season 2 of Mirzapur picks up where season 1 left off with the same story. However, this time the tone of the story is a bit darker, as was obviously going to happen after Bablo or Sweety’s death.
Although Mirzapur season 2 covers a wide range of topics, the central plot is Guddu or Golu’s revenge. Old characters return but with new rules, such as Guddu, who used to rely on his intelligence less in season 1 and more on force, but this time they rely on their intelligence.
On the other hand, Golu, who was a well educated college president, takes training to compete with enemies, which means that she is a bit stronger now, but apart from these two, all the other characters are the same as before.
Munna is still irresponsible, and wants to sit on the chair of Mirzapur, Akhandanand Tripathi is quite dangerous, this time Beena is the trumcard of the story, she will feel smarter or calculated than before.
And some new characters have also been introduced, like Sharad Shukla, who wants to finish the work left by his father.
According to me, the story of Mirzapur has been kept well balanced even in season 2. When Mirzapur season 2 was about to come, some people were sharing their opinions on the internet, saying that season 2 would not be anything special, this time it would not be fun, etc.
However, I felt the same way about Mirzapur season 2 as I did about season 1.
Mirzapur season 1 has been very fast-paced and unpredictable, while season 2 is slow or story-driven. This time the focus has been more on the emotional angles of the characters; in fact, this thing connects us better with the characters. It was unpredictable to see what was shown in season two after season one.
Weak Points
Season 2’s main problem is writing and consistency. I mean, season 2 started off with a bang, but slowly the pace of the show started slowing down, and I didn’t understand the motivation or rules of people. The character’s story gets emotional or wanders, and I don’t understand any strong reason behind doing it.
Although some new characters have been introduced this time, only a few of them can make a special impact on the story.
Positives
The actors have performed brilliantly, like last time, especially Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu as Munna, Vijay Verma, and Amit Sial as the inspector.
The way Pankaj Tripathi has portrayed his role as Akhandanand Tripathi, I don’t think any other actor could have played this role in his place.
All the epic moments in Season 2 served to deliver Goosebumps, plus its background music, which I thought was under-utilized, and a very tight or jam-packed storyline that would keep you hooked the entire time. I spent most of Season 1 hooked.
Popular dialogues have been reintroduced from time to time, which is very impressive to do. Even for a second, I am not bored in season 2, because every scene is so tightly created.
Like in Season 1, the dialogues in Season 2 are well written.
Conclusion
Overall, for those who believe that Mirzapur season 2 is not as strong as season 1, I would like to say one thing: if you look at it as a story purpose, then season 2 is a good base, and its season 3 will also come soon.
And Guddu, i.e., Ali Fazal, had recently posted a post on his social media handle, in which he mentioned that “Guddu Aa Rahe Hai Apne Aap” means that both the feet of Guddu are healed.
I mean to say season 3 is going to be much more dangerous than seasons 1 or 2. Season 2 was a base.
This was my overall, non-spoiler review of Mirzapur Season 2. If you haven’t seen it yet, or if you haven’t seen Mirzapur at all, then you are making a big mistake.
I hope you like my review. If you want to tell me anything, then comments are always open.
