The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself is a fantasy action-adventure series released on Netflix with 8 episodes, each of which is around 30 to 40 minutes in length.

The story of this series introduces us to a world where there are good witches as well as some bad witches and 16-year old Nathan, who is the son of a very powerful evil devil. And after Nathan turns 17, he will get special powers, but will he choose the path of goodness and start a war against his evil father, or will he become like his father, who kills witches and takes their hearts out? 

And to learn about the difficulties Nathan will face as he gains these abilities.

Let’s talk about what my experience was after watching this series. I am going to speak very simply or briefly.

In the early episodes, you may have a problem understanding the world of this series and the rules of this world, but as the show progresses, you will understand everything very easily, and you will enjoy this show a lot, especially the younger audience.

I have also enjoyed this show a lot, especially because of the characters that have been established in the story by putting in a good time.

Some characters were likable to me and some I hated, but I also liked the characters I hated. I did not want any of the characters to be cut out of the story.

Nathan’s sister, Jessica, is a pure evil character. Jessica has the power to take the form of any human, and you will get to see a lot of evil uses of these powers. Apart from Jessica or Nathan, the rest of the characters are sweet, conflicts between the characters, and you will go on investing in the relationship dynamics between them. The journey of Nathan will keep you completely hooked, and this is my promise.

While you must be enjoying seeing the magical powers of some witches, you will also see some quite brutal scenes in the series, as well as small twists and turns in the story. Although everything is good in this series, the CGI or VFX work was not even a little bit impressive. 

Drawbacks

This show has all the elements that will keep you engaged till the end and will be able to provide you with good entertainment as well, but for audiences like me, who have already experienced a lot of action adventure fantasy dramas, this show is not able to add anything new.

Whatever I saw in this show, I have seen it many times before, but I was invested in the characters, and when I get invested in the characters, I also like their journey, and I sincerely hope that you guys will also enjoy the journey of the characters.

This is not a smartly written or well executed show. It has issues too, but I am not going to talk about them.

Overall, in my view, this is a fully enjoyable show. If you are a fantasy action-adventure lover, then you must watch this series. So much so that I can say with confidence that the show will not disappoint you at all.
